WHY TRAIN APE?

Every athlete is different and has unique needs. So why do so many programs train with a one size fits all mentality? Not only does this generalized approach fail to nurture specialized talents, it can often lead to oversights that create injuries.


We do it differently at APE. Our program design assesses your athlete’s general fitness and goals while checking for potentially hazardous conditions like altered movement patterns and muscles compensations. This helps us stop bad habits from forming while we focus on building better ones. With our programs you can have the confidence that your athlete is in the hands of professionals that will protect your athlete on and off the field of play.

APE training is at the foundation of our performance program. These semi-private training sessions focus on key elements that separate elite athletes from the rest. Your student will develop core stability, lateral quickness, balance, and strength with focus on joints. This program will enhance your athletes’ performance regardless of their sport. 

APE Training is Ideal for students who are in-season or preparing for an upcoming season. While in-season students will be able to maintain healthy movement patterns that may be compromised by repetitive sports related actions. Students who are not actively engaged in athletics will be prepared to participate in sports safely and with confidence, fully understanding what their bodies are capable of.

Focused training sessions provide athletes with a specific element of athletic performance.

Rotational Strength

Athletes in this class enhance their ability to transfer energy from their hips and lower body to have more impactful throws and swings. Developing strong and stable shoulders is vital to prevent injury. In this class your athlete will build resilience in areas heavily affected by overuse.

Plyometric Power

Athletes in this class will develop the explosive ability required to accelerate, jump vertically as well as laterally. Along with performance your athlete will learn to absorb forces that often occur when landing and making sudden changes in direction. If your athlete must rely on their ability to create space and or close distances.

BUILD CONFIDENCE

One of the greatest benefits that come from a well-designed training program is confidence. The confidence we seek to instill in your child is not limited to sports performance. Having a strong work ethic and a high level of self-worth will assist in the development of each athlete. We push all our clients to capitalize on all the opportunities that are before them.

Sometimes that requires them to step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves not just in our training sessions but also in life. Here at APE we encourage all athletes to not just take what is given to them, but seek higher levels of achievement and set high expectations and be comfortable with their short comings.

PREVENT INJURY

Injury prevention training is essential to the longevity of your athlete. Losing playing time due to injury can have a heavy impact on the moral of a player, especially when an injury is reoccurring. Our program is centered around corrective exercise and flexibility training; two keys in preventing non-contact injuries.

As athletes grow their muscles and motor skills develop at different rates. Depending on the rate of growth and consistency of various movements, athletes often develop compensations in order to make movement which can lead to overloading of muscle groups and lead to injuries.

We first and for most correct movement patterns and strengthen muscles groups associated with joint stability. This helps your athlete be safe when playing the sports they love!

DEVELOP STRENGTH

Our strength training program will focus on the individual needs of your athlete. There are many different sports and they all have different strength requirements. In many strength and conditioning programs there is little to no focus on development of strength for the purpose of sports performance.

Consistently lifting heavy weights without the proper program design does not yield a high performing athlete. Our strength training program helps develop explosive power that will transfer onto the field of play and keep your athlete mobile yet strong.
